The Invisible Palace: Do We Truly Seek the Divine?
Imagine building a palace for the soul, only to find you are too afraid to step inside. In this episode of Radio Haanji’s Kitaab Kahani, narrator Ranjodh Singh explores the profound paradox of human faith through the story of a King who spends his life challenging the wise. He asks for a meeting with God, yet when the moment of truth arrives, he discovers that his heart is still anchored to the earth.
About the Story
The story centers on a powerful King who constructs a magnificent mansion as a sanctuary for sages and spiritual seekers. However, his hospitality is a trap. He demands that every guest answer one impossible question: "Can you introduce me to God?" If they fail, they are mocked and forced to pay for their stay. The King uses these failures to convince himself that spiritual truth is a myth and that all sages are mere pretenders.
His ego is finally confronted when a mysterious hermit enters the palace. Unlike the others, the hermit doesn't argue or explain; he simply offers an immediate invitation. He asks the King if he wants to meet God right this second or if he needs more time. This simple choice strips away the King's royal authority and reveals a man paralyzed by his attachments to his family, his wealth, and his life as a ruler.

The Message of the Story
This story is a powerful reminder for the Punjabi community that true spirituality is not an intellectual debate but a matter of genuine readiness. We often talk about faith and the divine as a distant goal for our "older years," much like the King who kept asking for more time. By delaying our spiritual connection, we are essentially admitting that we value our earthly "palaces" more than the truth we claim to seek.
For the diaspora living in Melbourne, Singapore, and beyond, the message hits home: our busy lives and responsibilities often become excuses to avoid looking within. The hermit’s challenge reminds us that the opportunity for spiritual connection is always present. God is not hidden; rather, we are the ones hiding behind our fears and worldly identities. True peace begins the moment we stop asking questions to test others and start answering the call of our own soul.

Indian Updates — 7 April 2026 | Punjab Crop Crisis and BJP’s Vision — Radio Haanji
In this morning’s edition of Indian Updates on Radio Haanji 1674 AM, Ranjodh Singh is joined by Senior Journalist Pritam Singh Rupal to unpack a series of developments that are reshaping the political and economic landscape for the Indian diaspora. Pritam Singh Rupal brings his decades of experience at All India Radio and deep roots in Punjabi journalism to provide rare clarity on stories that demand more than just a passing headline. Together, they explore the shifting power dynamics within India’s ruling party and the immediate crisis facing the agrarian heartland of Punjab.
The analysis begins with the Bharatiya Janata Party’s 47th Foundation Day, marked by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s significant address on April 6. While the Prime Minister emphasized a service-oriented model and the principle of "Nation First," the discussion on Radio Haanji centers on the structural shifts within the party. Modi’s push for "One Nation, One Election" and the Uniform Civil Code reflects a drive toward national integration that critics argue may challenge the federal diversity of the country. There is a sharp critique regarding the centralization of power within the current party leadership, noting a departure from the collaborative leadership models of previous eras.
The situation on the ground in Punjab has reached a critical point as unseasonal weather and hailstorms have devastated approximately 1.25 lakh acres of the Rabi wheat crop. Farmers across the Malwa region, including districts like Fazilka and Muktsar, are facing immense financial distress with some carrying debts as high as thirty lakh rupees. Various farm unions are now demanding a compensation of fifty thousand rupees per acre to stay afloat. The conversation highlights significant skepticism regarding the Girdawari or crop inspection process, citing a history of bureaucratic delays and a lack of transparency that often prevents aid from reaching those who need it most.
Legislative focus in Punjab is also shifting toward the upcoming special Assembly session scheduled for April 13, coinciding with Baisakhi. The state government intends to introduce stricter laws against sacrilege or Beadbi by amending the Jagat Jot Guru Granth Sahib Satkar Act of 2008. While the proposed changes aim for harsher punishments and property confiscation, the debate remains polarized. The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has urged the government to consult the community first, while the BJP has demanded that the law be expanded to include the protection of Hindu temples, raising complex questions about religious equality and constitutional validity.
The ripple effects of global conflict are now being felt directly in Indian markets as tensions between Iran, Israel, and the United States escalate. The functional impairment of the Strait of Hormuz has disrupted one-fifth of the world’s oil and gas supply, leading to a surge in crude prices toward one hundred and twenty dollars a barrel. For the average citizen, this means an imminent rise in the cost of fuel and fertilizers, with urea prices already jumping thirty percent. The speakers critique the mainstream media for focusing on political noise while these significant global economic threats begin to hit the pockets of common families.
As the 2026 assembly elections approach their peak, the political stakes are higher than ever for regional and national players. Polling is set for April 9 in Assam, Kerala, and Puducherry, followed by Tamil Nadu and West Bengal later in the month. These elections are widely viewed as a definitive test of public trust ahead of the 2029 Lok Sabha polls. In states like West Bengal and Kerala, the campaign has been marked by intense friction and reports of political violence, underscoring the high-voltage nature of the current democratic process.
Why Indian Updates on Radio Haanji Is Essential for the Indian Diaspora

This commitment to high-quality Punjabi radio Melbourne and beyond is what defines the show's value to the community. Whether it is the impact of global fuel prices or the specifics of a new sacrilege law, the analysis provided by Ranjodh Singh and Pritam Singh Rupal cuts through the clutter. It serves as a trusted guide for those who care deeply about the heritage and future of their homeland while navigating life in the diaspora.

Today Updates — 7 Apr 2026 | US-Iran Conflict, Fuel Crisis and Cyclone Maila — Radio Haanji
In today's edition of Today Updates on Radio Haanji 1674 AM, Ranjodh Singh brings you the critical stories shaping Australia and the world this Tuesday. From escalating military tensions in the Middle East to a brewing fuel crisis at home, we cover the essential news that the Punjabi and Indian community in Australia needs to know to stay ahead.
US-Iran War Escalation and the Pilot Rescue Controversy
The conflict between the United States and Iran has reached a dangerous new threshold as a critical American deadline expires today. President Trump has issued a stark warning, stating he possesses the military capability to end the Iranian threat in a single day if necessary. Diplomatic efforts appear to have stalled entirely after the US rejected a ten-point peace agenda proposed by Iran through Pakistani mediators. This followed Iran’s earlier refusal of a fifteen-point American plan, which Tehran dismissed as entirely one-sided.
On the ground, military actions have intensified with the reported deaths of two Revolutionary Guard commanders in a significant airstrike. Iran responded by firing missiles toward Israel and several Gulf nations, further destabilizing the region. A new layer of intrigue has emerged regarding a recent US pilot rescue mission. Iranian officials now claim the operation was a deceptive cover designed to seize uranium stores located in Isfahan, an allegation that adds further tension to an already volatile international standoff.
France Repatriates 129 Tons of Gold from New York
France has successfully completed a massive logistical operation to move 129 tons of its gold reserves from New York back to Paris. This strategic move allowed the French government to book a significant capital gain as gold prices continue to climb globally. By shifting these assets to domestic vaults, France has strengthened its sovereign control over its national wealth. Economic analysts suggest this repatriation reflects a broader global trend of nations securing physical assets amid rising international uncertainty and fluctuating currency markets.
Pakistan National Debt Hits 80 Trillion Rupees
Pakistan is facing an unprecedented economic crisis as its national debt reaches a staggering 80 trillion rupees. Financial reports indicate that the country’s debt is currently increasing at a rate of approximately 1.8 crore rupees every single minute. This mounting financial burden has raised serious concerns about the long-term stability of the Pakistani economy and its ability to meet international obligations. For the diaspora community with ties to the region, these figures represent a sobering reality of the challenges facing the nation’s infrastructure and public services.
NASA Artemis II Sets New Deep Space Record
In a historic achievement for human space exploration, NASA’s Artemis II mission has set a new record for the furthest distance humans have ever traveled from Earth. The crew has surpassed the previous milestone established by the Apollo 13 mission in 1970. This mission represents a significant step forward in the journey to return humans to the lunar surface and eventually reach Mars. The success of Artemis II demonstrates the advancing capabilities of modern aerospace technology and the enduring human spirit of discovery.
Afghanistan Floods and Landslides Claim 110 Lives
Relentless rainfall over the past twelve days has triggered devastating floods and landslides across Afghanistan. Local authorities have confirmed that at least 110 people have lost their lives in the disaster, with hundreds more injured. The heavy storms have destroyed over 300 kilometers of roads, cutting off essential supply lines to remote villages. Emergency relief efforts are currently underway, but the damaged infrastructure and continued threat of rain are making it difficult for aid to reach the most affected regions.
Queensland on High Alert for Category 3 Cyclone Maila
Residents in Far North Queensland are preparing for the arrival of Cyclone Maila, which is currently classified as a Category 3 storm. Meteorological reports suggest the cyclone is likely to intensify into a Category 4 system as it approaches the Cape York region over the coming weekend. Local authorities have issued warnings for residents to secure their properties and stay informed through emergency broadcasts. The potential for destructive winds and heavy rainfall has prompted a state of high alert across the northern coastline.
Australia Fuel Crisis and Concerns Over 20% Food Price Rise
Energy Minister Chris Bowen has attempted to reassure the Australian public that fuel supplies are secure through the end of May. However, internal reports suggest that a severe shortage could lead to fuel rationing as early as next month. This potential scarcity is causing significant anxiety among farmers who rely on diesel for harvesting and transport. Industry experts warn that if the fuel crisis persists, it could result in a 20% increase in food prices across the country, further stretching the budgets of Australian households.
Melbourne Car Theft Reaches 20-Year High
Melbourne is experiencing a significant spike in vehicle crime, with car thefts reaching a twenty-year high of over 32,000 vehicles in the last year. This surge in criminal activity has had a direct impact on residents in affluent suburbs such as Brighton and Hampton, where insurance premiums have nearly doubled in response to the risk. Local police are urging car owners to utilize additional security measures and remain vigilant, as the high volume of thefts continues to put pressure on law enforcement resources and the insurance industry.
Authorities Track Neo-Nazi Recruitment in Sydney
Law enforcement agencies in New South Wales are closely monitoring a new extremist group known as the National Revolutionary Workers Movement. Reports indicate that the group is actively targeting and recruiting teenagers between the ages of fifteen and eighteen in the Sydney area. This development has raised concerns about the spread of radical ideologies among vulnerable youth. Community leaders and authorities are working together to identify the sources of this recruitment and provide support to families to prevent further involvement in these fringe movements.
Novati Construction Collapses with $53.4 Million Debt
The Australian construction industry has seen another major failure with the collapse of Novati Construction. The company has entered administration owing approximately $53.4 million to various creditors, while reportedly holding only about $1 million in tangible assets. This collapse leaves many sub-contractors and suppliers in a precarious financial position, highlighting the ongoing volatility within the building sector. The shortfall in assets compared to liabilities suggests a long and difficult recovery process for those affected by the company's closure.
IPL Update: Rain Delays and Upcoming High-Stakes Clashes
The Indian Premier League has seen its share of drama on and off the field, with the twelfth match between the Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders interrupted by heavy rain. Both teams were forced to share points after the outfield was deemed unplayable. Cricket fans are now turning their attention to the upcoming high-stakes match between the Rajasthan Royals and the Mumbai Indians. Despite the weather interruptions, the tournament continues to draw massive viewership from the Punjabi and Indian diaspora in Australia.

Is the "luck" running out for the lucky country? In this deep-dive episode of The Insight Report, host Preetinder Singh Grewal is joined by Dr. Varinderjit, a Research Fellow at Macquarie University, to unpack the complex web of the 2026 Australian cost-of-living crisis.
We often hear about global conflicts on the news, but rarely do we discuss how they directly impact the price of milk in Melbourne or your mortgage repayments in Sydney. Dr. Varinderjit explains the "Triple Hit" facing Australians: surging energy costs, the RBA's aggressive interest rate stance, and the structural failures in our housing market.
Key takeaways from this episode:
The Petroleum Trap: Why Australia’s reliance on Singapore-refined oil makes us vulnerable to Middle East instability.
Rockets and Feathers: The frustrating economic phenomenon that keeps your prices high even when global costs fall.
The Migration Debate: Why "stopping migration" isn't the silver bullet for housing, and why our aging population needs a younger workforce to survive.

Voice: Ranjodh Singh | Genre: ਰੂਹਾਨੀਅਤ (Spiritual) | Format: Punjabi Audio Story | Series: Kitaab Kahani
The Guru’s Blank Pages: Why Silence Often Holds the Greatest Truth
I think we have all felt that urge to find a perfect "manual" for life. We want the exact steps, the right words, and a clear map to follow. In this episode of Kitaab Kahani, Ranjodh Singh shares a story that flips that desire on its head. It is about a Guru who spent his life in devotion and eventually stopped speaking entirely, finding more peace in silence than in any debate. When his disciples begged him to write down his wisdom before he passed away, the result was something no one expected. It is a story that asks whether we are truly looking for truth, or just looking for something to argue about.
About the Story
The story begins with a revered Guru who, after years of deep meditation, reaches a state of perpetual inner peace. He no longer reacts to the chaos around him—the laughter, the fights, or the noise of the world. Seeing his end near, his close disciples grow anxious. They worry that his immense wisdom will be lost forever once he is gone. They plead with him to record his "life hacks" for reaching the divine in a book they can follow for generations.
The Guru eventually agrees, promising to spend his final day writing. As evening falls, he emerges with a small notebook and hands it to his followers, telling them that everything they need to know is recorded within. However, the Guru's passing is immediately followed by a bitter conflict over who gets to keep the sacred text. When they finally open the book, the shock is universal: every single page is completely blank. The "Kori Kitab" (Empty Book) becomes a mirror reflecting the disciples' own egos and biases.
Listen to the full story on Radio Haanji Kitaab Kahani — free on all platforms.
The Message of the Story
The core message of "Kori Kitab" is a gentle but firm reminder that truth cannot be confined to ink and paper. The blank pages were the Guru's final and most profound lesson: the spiritual path is an internal experience, not an intellectual property. For the Punjabi diaspora living in busy cities like Melbourne or Singapore, this story serves as a call to simplify. We often get so caught up in the "rules" and interpretations of our culture and faith that we forget the actual practice of kindness and silence.
Ultimately, the story highlights how our egos often lead us to twist simple truths to suit our own narratives. When the disciples began making up their own meanings for the blank pages, they moved further away from the Guru's actual path. It was only the disciple who burned the book—refusing to let it become a source of division—who truly understood the Guru's silence. True wisdom isn't found in what we read, but in what we do when the book is closed.
