ਅੱਜ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਇੱਕ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਨਾ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਸਮਾਜ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਬੜੀ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਬਿਮਾਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਨਾ ਸਿਰਫ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਰਿਕ ਰਿਸ਼ਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਅਸਲੀਅਤ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਬਲਕਿ ਸਾਡੇ ਸਮਾਜ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਾਲਾਇਕੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਵੀ ਚਾਨਣ ਪਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਸੋਚ ਕੇ ਵੀ ਦਿਲ ਕੰਬ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਕੋਈ ਪੁੱਤ ਆਪਣੇ 90 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਪ ਨੂੰ ਦਰ-ਦਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਠੋਕਰਾਂ ਖਾਣ ਲਈ ਮਜਬੂਰ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੁੱਢੇ ਮਾਪਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਬਨਣ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਘਰੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਸਾਡਾ ਸਮਾਜ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਜ਼ਰਅੰਦਾਜ਼ ਕਰਕੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਸਮਾਜ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਇਹ ਵਤੀਰੇ ਆਮ ਹੀ ਹਨ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਏਦਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਸਾਡੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਤਾਂ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਨੇ ਪਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਦਿਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਸਵਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਉੱਠਦਾ, ਅੱਜ ਦੀ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਭਾਵਨਾਤਮਕ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਟੁੰਬਦੀ ਹੈ ਉਥੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਸਮਾਜ ਦਾ ਅਸਲੀ ਚੇਹਰਾ ਵੀ ਦਿਖਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ
