ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਦੇ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ ਡੋਨਲਡ ਟਰੰਪ ਨੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਬਾਇਡਨ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨੇ ’ਤੇ ਲੈਂਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਚੋਣਾਂ ’ਚ ਮਦਦ ਲਈ 1.8 ਕਰੋੜ ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਡਾਲਰ ਦੇ ਫੰਡ ਅਲਾਟ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਦਕਿ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਲੋੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਟਰੰਪ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਸ਼ੁੱਕਰਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਸ਼ਿੰਗਟਨ ’ਚ ‘ਗਵਰਨਰਜ਼ ਵਰਕਿੰਗ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ’ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਬਾਇਡਨ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਨੇ ‘ਵੋਟਿੰਗ ਵਧਾਉਣ’ ਲਈ ਭਾਰਤ ਨੂੰ 2.1 ਕਰੋੜ ਡਾਲਰ ਦੇ ਫੰਡ ਅਲਾਟ ਕੀਤੇ ਸਨ। ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਯੂਐੱਸਏਡ ਮਾਮਲੇ ’ਚ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਦਾਅਵਾ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਵਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਟਰੰਪ ਨੇ ਬੀਤੇ ਦਿਨ ‘ਕੰਜ਼ਰਵੇਟਿਵ ਪੌਲਿਟੀਕਲ ਐਕਸ਼ਨ ਕਾਨਫਰੰਸ’ (ਸੀਪੀਏਸੀ) ’ਚ ਬੀਤੇ ਦਿਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਇਹ ਟਿੱਪਣੀ ਕੀਤੀ। ਟਰੰਪ ਨੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਵੀ ਕਈ ਵਾਰ ਦਾਅਵਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ‘ਚੋਣਾਂ ’ਚ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਭਾਗੀਦਾਰੀ ਵਧਾਉਣ’ ਲਈ ਭਾਰਤ ਨੂੰ 2.1 ਕਰੋੜ ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਡਾਲਰ ਦੀ ਵਿੱਤੀ ਮਦਦ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਦੀ ਕੌਮਾਂਤਰੀ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਏਜੰਸੀ (ਯੂਐੱਸਏਆਈਡੀ) ਨੂੰ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨੇ ’ਤੇ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਟਰੰਪ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਦਾਅਵੇ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਭਾਰਤ ’ਚ ਵਿਵਾਦ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਆਪਣੇ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ’ਚ ਟਰੰਪ ਨੇ ਭਾਰਤ ’ਤੇ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਦਾ ਫਾਇਦਾ ਉਠਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਾਇਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ, ‘ਭਾਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਚੋਣਾਂ ’ਚ ਮਦਦ ਲਈ 1.8 ਕਰੋੜ ਡਾਲਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ। ਆਖਿਰ ਕਿਉਂ?..। ਅਸੀਂ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਪੁਰਾਣੇ ਪੇਪਰ ਬੈਲੇਟ ਵੱਲ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਚੋਣਾਂ ’ਚ ਸਾਡੀ ਮਦਦ ਕਰਨ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ, ਠੀਕ ਹੈ ਨਾ? ਵੋਟਰ ਪਛਾਣ ਪੱਤਰ, ਕੀ ਇਹ ਚੰਗਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ? ਅਸੀਂ ਭਾਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਲਈ ਪੈਸਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਂ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੈਸੇ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।’ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ, ‘ਉਹ ਸਾਡਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਫਾਇਦਾ ਉਠਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਦੁਨੀਆ ’ਚ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਟੈਕਸ ਲਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ’ਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਹਨ… ਉਹ 200 ਫੀਸਦ (ਟੈਕਸ) ਲਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਫਿਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਚੋਣਾਂ ’ਚ ਮਦਦ ਲਈ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰਾ ਪੈਸਾ ਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਂ।’ ਟਰੰਪ ਨੇ ਬੰਗਲਾਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ 2.9 ਕਰੋੜ ਡਾਲਰ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਯੂਐੱਸਏਡ ਦੀ ਆਲੋਚਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਲਏ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ, ‘2.9 ਕਰੋੜ ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਡਾਲਰ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਲੋਕ ਬੰਗਲਾਦੇਸ਼ ’ਚ ਕੱਟੜ ਖੱਬੇ-ਪੱਖੀ ਕਮਿਊਨਿਸਟਾਂ ਲਈ ਵੋਟ ਕਰ ਸਕਣ।

ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਵਲੋਂ ਡਿਪੋਰਟ ਕੀਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਹੁਣ ਪਨਾਮਾ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਪਨਾਮਾ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਪਨਾਮਾ ’ਚ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਮਿਸ਼ਨ, ਸਥਾਨਕ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ, ਡਿਪੋਰਟ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਲਾਮਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਪਨਾਮਾ, ਕੋਸਟਾ ਰੀਕਾ, ਅਤੇ ਨਿਕਾਰਾਗੁਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਥਿਤ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਐਂਬੈਸੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ‘ਐਕਸ’ (ਟਵਿੱਟਰ) ਹੈਂਡਲ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਇਹ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ। ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ, ਇਸ ‘ਚ ਪਨਾਮਾ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ ਭਾਰਤੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਅ正ੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਉਲਲੇਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।
ਇਹ ਭਾਰਤੀ 299 ਡਿਪੋਰਟੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡੇ ਗਰੁੱਪ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਨੇ ਪਨਾਮਾ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਹੈ। ਪਨਾਮਾ ਦੇ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ ਜੋਸ ਰਾਊਲ ਮੁਲੀਨੋ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਦੀ ਪੁਸ਼ਟੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਪਨਾਮਾ, ਡਿਪੋਰਟ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ‘ਟ੍ਰਾਂਜ਼ਿਟ ਪੁਲ’ ਵਜੋਂ ਕੰਮ ਕਰੇਗਾ। ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਨੇ ਗੈਰ-ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਦਾਖਲ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਵਾਪਸੀ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਤੇਜ਼ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ।
ਪਨਾਮਾ, ਨਿਕਾਰਾਗੁਆ, ਅਤੇ ਕੋਸਟਾ ਰੀਕਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਥਿਤ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਸਫ਼ਾਰਤਖਾਨਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਬਿਆਨ ਜਾਰੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਸਾਨੂੰ ਪਨਾਮਾ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵਲੋਂ ਇਹ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਡਿਪੋਰਟ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਕੁਝ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਨਾਗਰਿਕ ਪਨਾਮਾ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਈ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੋੜੀਂਦੀਆਂ ਸਹੂਲਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਟਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਠਹਿਰਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਸਫ਼ਾਰਤਖਾਨੇ ਦੀ ਟੀਮ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਇਜਾਜ਼ਤ ਮੰਗੀ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਪਨਾਮਾ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਲਾਮਤੀ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਂ।”
98 ਡਿਪੋਰਟੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਮੁਲਕ ਵਾਪਸ ਜਾਣ ਤੋਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਇਨਕਾਰ
299 ਡਿਪੋਰਟ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਗੈਰ-ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਪਰਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੇਵਲ 171 ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੂਲ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਾਪਸ ਜਾਣ ਦੀ ਸਹਿਮਤੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ। ਜਦਕਿ 98 ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਜਾਣ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਜਿਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਨਾਮਾ ਦੇ ਡੇਰੀਅਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਂਤ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਕੈਂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਕੋਸਟਾ ਰੀਕਾ ਨੇ ਵੀ ‘ਪੁਲ’ ਦੇ ਤੌਰ ‘ਤੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਸਹਿਮਤੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਡਿਪੋਰਟ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੂਲ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਾਪਸ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ।
Several deported Indians from America have now reached Panama, as confirmed by the Panamanian government. The Indian mission in Panama, along with the local authorities, is ensuring the safety of the deported individuals. The Indian Embassy in Panama, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua shared this information on X (formerly Twitter). However, the exact number of deported Indians arriving in Panama has not been disclosed.
These individuals are part of a larger group of 299 deportees, sent to Panama by the American government. Joe Raul Mulino, the President of Panama, has stated that the country will act as a transit hub for deported individuals. The American administration has accelerated its efforts to deport illegal immigrants who entered the country unlawfully.
The Indian Embassy in Panama, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica issued a statement, saying, “We have been informed by the Panamanian authorities that a group of Indian nationals deported from America has arrived in Panama. They are safe and have been provided with all necessary facilities in a hotel. The embassy team has sought permission to meet them, and we are working with the Panamanian government to ensure their safety.”
98 Deportees Refuse to Return to Their Homeland
Out of the 299 deported illegal immigrants, only 171 individuals have agreed to return to their home countries. However, 98 deportees have refused to return, and they have been sent to a special camp in Darién province, Panama. Costa Rica has also agreed to act as a transit country to facilitate the return of deported individuals to their respective nations.
This is a significant development in America’s immigration policy, where authorities are actively deporting individuals who have entered America illegally. The Indian mission in Panama continues to monitor the situation.
